A damaged thread or sealing of the plug is manifested by an oil leak at the place of its seat. Before assembly, compare the thread and the sealing with the disassembled element.

Korek wymienia się przy każdej ingerencji w miskę olejową lub układ chłodzenia skrzyni, a także po stwierdzeniu wycieku na gwincie albo uszkodzenia gniazda klucza. Przy montażu obowiązuje nowa uszczelka lub pierścień, czysty i suchy gwint oraz dokręcenie momentem podanym dla obudowy, bez przeciążania odlewu.
