8F35 gearshift points

8F35 gearshift points | automatic GM | parts for automatic transmissions

Sometimes the 8F gearbox can skip gears when starting off. However, it uses more available gears during fast acceleration, which gives the impression "Fast gear shift". All this is normal. It is designed to keep the engine speed closer to maximum power, ensuring the best performance and fuel economy.

However, if you think there is a problem, you can always reset the shift points. Here's how to do it:

  1. Warm up the engine and gearbox to normal temperature.
  2. First procedure: Speed up your vehicle from the spot 80 km / h (50 mph), changing gears at approx 2000 rpm. Stay in 8th gear for at least 30 seconds or until the TCC is triggered. Repeat this step twice.
  3. Second procedure: Then, from the parking position, accelerate the vehicle again to 80 km / h (50 mph), this time changing gears at 3000 rpm. Remain 8th gear for a minimum 30 seconds or until the TCC is triggered. Repeat this step twice.

If the gearbox still does not change gears as normal, it will be necessary to carry out further diagnostics. In this case, see the gearshift speed table. Remember that during this test you should drive with a small throttle load.
