The element is responsible for the tightness of the connection of the gearbox output shaft with the drive shaft, preventing ATF oil leaks and the ingress of dirt into the gearbox.

The wear of this seal is a common cause of oil leaks in the back of the box. Replacement is recommended during disassembly of the drive shaft, repairing the box or with visible signs of leakage.
